Current Research Projects

Low pressure plasmas

Our group works on the development and application of various diagnostics for the use in low pressure plasmas. Some examples of current research project in low pressure plasmas are:

  • inductively coupled array discharges
  • investigation of the ion velocity distribution functions in Gamma-10 (in collaboration with the University of Tsukuba)
  • high frequency CCP discharges for mirror cleaning in fusion devices (in collaboration with the Forschungszentrum Jülich)
  • investigation of plasma pressure and fluxes
  • THz time-domain spectroscopy for plasma density measurenements
  • fs electron beams for photographic cross section measurements

Atmospheric pressure

Due to their small size atmospheric pressure plasmas pose different challenges than low pressure plasmas. Therefore, we focus on advanced laser diagnostics and emission spectroscopy as a window into the plasma.
